My name is Tiago, I’m 24 years old, and I’m originally from Lisbon (the beautiful city you see above), although I’m currently living in Italy. I work for Renaissance Periodization (RP) and I have my own coaching business where I help people with their training and fitness goals.

I started my fitness journey when I was around 18 years old. I didn’t like how I looked, so I tried to become fitter. Like many, I started by doing some cardio. I bought a treadmill, which I used daily, and eventually started training with some dumbbells at home. After a while, I finally gained some confidence and joined a commercial gym. Along the way, I found powerlifting, which I fell in love with and competed every single year since.


I’ve always been somewhat of a nerd, so when I started my fitness journey, that led me to learn everything I could about fitness. I was obsessed with it, learning about it every single day. I initially started with Youtube videos, but soon started to read books and articles. Eventually, that progressed to textbooks, scientific articles, and several courses and certifications.

I got particularly interested in exercise and nutritional science, and making sure my methods were evidence based rather than just following traditional unproven practices.

I’ve been coaching people for about 5 years and in the meantime, I’ve helped over 100 people reach their fitness goals.
